A new chapter opens for education in the seaside city
KRIBI, September 9, 2024 – The city of Kribi experienced a historic moment this Monday September 9th 2024 with the inauguration of the Kribi International School, located in the MAHALET district. This event, placed under the high patronage of the French Ambassador to Cameroon Thierry Marchand, marks the culmination of an ambitious project long awaited by the local community.
A vision realized
The project of this school is realized as the vision and effort of the 5AS Association, chaired by Mr. Mahouvé Adolphe. During his speech, Mr. Mahouvé explained the deeper meaning of the name of the association: the 5A represent the “Association to Help in educating and teaching the French Language”. This non-profit organization is committed to reinvesting all its profits in literacy, culture and art.
A project born from collaboration
Created in December 2022 under the leadership of the Union of French Foreigners (UFE), of which Mr. Olivier Leloustre is president, the Kribi International School embodies much more than a simple educational structure. It aims to be a true crucible of discovery, growth and learning, where the children of Kribiwill be able to acquire the knowledge and skills essential to their future.
A ceremony full of emotion
The inauguration ceremony was punctuated by strong moments, notably when the Governor of the Southern region Felix NguelleNguelle cut the symbolic ribbon, thus officially opening the school. The event generated palpable enthusiasm among the parents and local personalities present.
“We are all delighted with the arrival of such a school in our city. Our children will no longer have to go abroad to receive a quality education,” said a parent with emotion, testifying to the positive impact of Mr. Mahouvé Adolphe’s initiative.
A promising future
The opening of the Kribi International School marks a turning point in the region’s educational landscape. It promises not only to offer excellent training to the young people of Kribi, but also to contribute to the socio-economic development of the city by attracting families looking for quality education for their children.
