UNAUTHENTIC INDOMITABLE LIONS’ JERSEYS OFF THE SHELVES

FECAFOOT is liaising with ministry of commerce to fight against counterfeited national team wears in the market.

The Cameroon football federation held a meeting this Tuesday 22nd of April 2025 with the ministry of commerce to sign a collaboration that will help them stop the sales of fake indomitable lions’ jerseys in markets and shops in the national territory. The aim of the meeting was to map out plans on how to send fraud control agents on the field to put hands on any trader that is dealing with the sales of nonauthentic national team jerseys.

The meeting that was held in Yaoundé with the presence of new national team kid provider FOURTEEN, came to a conclusion that teams of fraud control agents will frequently go out to shops and markets to track down all vendors that deal with any national team outfit that is not authentic. This is to permit the original producers of the sportswear to regain their money invested.

In a desperate attempt to top the proliferation of fake Indomitable lions’ jerseys in the market, the Cameroon Football Federation had earlier this month sighed a partnership with the Cameroon customs to control the entry of the unauthentic sports wears entering in the country.

It is important to note that this move might not be in the taste of many Cameroonians, considering the fact that their purchasing power is particularly low at this point in time. The FOURTEEN brand Indomitable Lions jerseys costs 15 000frs for the fans class, 30 000 frs for the premium class and 47 000frs for the first class. It is evident that an average Cameroonian will not be able to spare this amount of money to get one. So, will FOURTEEN be able to regain its investment only counting on the sales of the jerseys?
