The people of Bandoum, Fomopea, Ndounde, Fotchouffeu and² Tsafeu send thanks to the Head of State for sending them help when they need it the most after the catastrophe.
The Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji took support packages from the state to flood victims in Fokoue , Dschang in the Menoua division Western Region of Cameroon on Monday 7th October . Following the heavy downpour on Friday 27th of September causing lands slight and flood in the villages of Fomopea, Ndounde, Fotchouffeu and Tsefeu in Fokoue and Sanchou in the Menoua Division. The catastrophe causing a lot of material damage though fortunately no human life was deplored.
Minister Atanga Nji flanked by the governor of the Western Region Awa Fonka Augustin was accompanied by a powerful delegation to comfort the helpless victims in that part of the country and give them the message of the Head of State. Present at the scene to welcome the minister and his delegation were local and traditional authorities who were happy to see that President Paul Biya could send immediate help to them after that calamity.
The Mayor of Fokoue, Mrs Demanou Tapamo Adrienne thanked the head of state for sending his emissaries to wipe the tears of her population at this time of pains, she did not fail to announce that, she and the local authorities have taken some first aid measures to the affected people just as the disaster occurred, meaning that they have to help themselves before the state helps them. She thanked the head of state for his gesture but did not forget to enumerate the needs of her population to ameliorate their living condition. Among all difficulties, the mayor of Fokoue underlined that Sanchou badly needed roads. She did not fail to precise that the population was sensitize on attitudes to adopt in order to be safe in catastrophe condition. The mayor said she has asked for a map of the locality to mark out risk zones so that people will be stopped from building in such area to prevent new calamities.
Nevertheless, the Minister of Territorial Administration underlined that his visit was to prove that the Head of State Paul Biya does not forget anybody. He promised that stock will be taken of the after effect of the catastrophe and measures will be taken too so that the population should have a good night sleep henceforth.
