In a bilingual video published though the national broadcasting station website CRTV WEB, the national team coach disclaimed the social media publication that announced his resignation earlier in the day.
“I am surprise about the things that has been written and said about me resigning, which is not true. I have not resigned and I don’t see the reason why I will”. These are the words of Indomitable Lions Head Coach Marc Brys reacting all the way from Greece yesterday 24th July to debunk publication of a fake resignation letter sent to the Cameroon Football federation head office in Tinga, Yaounde. The 62 year old Belgian technician was talking on a video published on the CRTV website.
“There are a lot of things in the social media that are far from the reality” he said. “Once more I have not resigned, I am still the coach of Cameroon”. He reiterated. Coach Brys underlined that him and his collaborators are very busy in the preparation of the upcoming qualifying matches of the Indomitable Lions for the 2026 world cup due to take place for the first time in three different countries; U S A, Mexico and Canada.
The surprising resignation letter that took all football lovers aback has as motive the none payment of the Head Coach’s two months’ salary arrears and was written in very decent French. Considering the fact that Marck Brys is not very fluent in French language, many could doubt the veracity of the letter, but then, it was purportedly signed by him. This left a lot of analyzed in confused.
Upon taking noticed of the resignation letter coming from FECAFOOT, the Minister of Sports and Physical education Pr Narcisse Mouelle Kombi quickly published a press release to clear the air saying that it was groundless and that Marck Brys has not resigned, he stays the national men’s football team trainer till further notice.
