Following the heavy downpour in many towns in the nation Monday 1st October, the of village Fokwe Dschang in the west Region of Cameroon was almost wiped out of the map by flood.
Inhabitants said they noticed much water flowing from the hills behind their village that gave them no chance to save any of their belongings. This was at about the hour of 9am. The chief’s palace, school, health center and many houses were swept by the rushing rain water. It was very fortunate that no human casualty was deplored.
Villagers expressing themselves in the eye of the press camera said it was the first time they experience such in their village. Left with no other alternative, the villagers turn to the government and cry for help from the Head of State Paul Biya. It should be noted that with the recent rainy season, many localities in the country have fall prey to flood, in the likes of Mayo Danay in the Extrem North Region, Logpom in Douala Littoral Region and now Fokwe in Dschang West Region.
