Actress Céline Orgelle Kentsop, known as Mami Ton, passed away on the night of September 4-5, 2024 at the age of 56 at the Douala General Hospital. Her departure has sparked a wave of emotion among her loved ones, fans, and fellow artists.
An Unforgettable Talent
Mami Ton marked Cameroonian cinema with her brilliant *22-year career. With about forty roles to her credit in films and TV movies such as * La Nouvelle Épouse, Femme Autoritaire, La Reine Blanche , Foyer Polygamique and Madame et Monsieur, she won over audiences with her talent and stage presence. She also participated in the web series La Fille de Mamiton and Les Minutes de Mamiton.

Recognition and Distinctions
Mami Ton received several distinctions during her career, including the Canal d’Or twice for best actress and the title of Knight of Cameroonian Merit on May 20, 2024. The last scene she acted in her life was to struggle that the authorities insure her evacuation for treatment. Her works showed the significant impact of her career on Cameroonian culture.
