Located in the east coastal region of china, Zhejian is a province with great economic potentials that Cameroon like other African countries has tapped from over the years and will still do. Under the framework of The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in which president Paul Biya and some members of government are presently taking part, Zheijang is presented as being among the first province in China that has economic ties with Africa taking into consideration its 53.9 billion dollars of investment in the continent in the year 2023.
In a press conference held yesterday in Zheijang, local authorities demonstrated the importance of the Eastern chines province cooperation with Africa that has not stopped increasing. The prelude of the Zheijang’s cooperation with Africa could be traced as far back as 55 years earlier in many domains including medicine. Examples could be traced in Namibia, Mali, Central African Republic just to name a few. In 2022 and 2023, 110 Chinese medical personnel were sent to Africa where they took care of 180,000 medical cases. This expedition permitted china to introduce it medicine in Africa through 15 seminars organized in the concerned countries and 70 training workshops. In education Zheijan has created cooperation ties with 20 universities in Africa. Cameroon has received the creation of eight Confucius institutes. The presence of President Paul Biya in the ongoing 2024 Chino-African summit will strengthen ties with the Asian giant and throw an even bigger bridge between china and Cameroon economic cooperation.
