Switzerland based Cameroon artist JAJA TRESCH opens up to her fans and music lovers in Cameroon all over the world
Who is Jaja Tresch?
Jaja Tresh is a Cameroonian artist from the North West region, based in Switzerland.
When did Jaja Tresch start music?
I started music when I was a child. I grew up in a family of musicians, and music has always been a passion for me, even though I didn’t put it at first. But as I grew older, I discovered that I had something very special within me. That’s how I came about releasing my first single, “Tchop My Money,” in 2018, and that was it.
What brought you to music when you were already an entrepreneur?
Music has always been my passion. Since I was a baby, as I started growing up, I began singing—in choirs, in churches. Even while I was in Switzerland, music was always a part of me. I started performing in cabarets and recording in studios. I engaged in many different musical activities because I love music. As I mentioned, I grew up in a family where some of my sisters and aunties also sing, so the love for music runs in our family. That’s why I started my career. At a later stage, I reflected on what I truly wanted, and I knew that music was in my blood.
You have made singles and albums before. Could you tell us about the last album you made in 2023?
I have released many singles, and my last major work in 2023 was a single I did with Coco Argentée. I had an album in 2020 and in 2023 I released that successful single. There’s also a maxi single on the way.
What is your source of inspiration?
My fans are my source of inspiration. When I create something and people appreciate it, I keep fighting to give them my best. I promise them that more is coming. They should keep waiting because I still have a lot to offer, and I am a still a powerful music source. Yes, my fans are my inspiration.

What is your relationship with Cameroonian artists like Ben Decca, Annie Anzouer, Papa Zoe, and Coco Argentée?
I have great relationships with Cameroonian artists, although I can’t name them all. For example, when I recorded my first single, Papa Zoe was there for me. Mama Annie Anzoue, Papa Ben Decca—I keep learning from them every day. I grew up listening to their music, and I respect them. As elders, we always seek to learn from them and be inspired by their work. The inspiration they give us is what I want to pass on to the younger generation of Cameroonian musicians. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Cameroonian artists.
What do you think about the losses of Cameroonian icons like Manu Dibango and Anne-Marie Nzié?
I, Jaja Tresch, am one of the people who feel so happy of Cameroonian music. When I think about how it started and where it is today—our music is known worldwide.
The quality of our music is really good, and I believe it’s heading in the right direction. I encourage the younger ones to keep following the footsteps of the elders because, although today’s music is different due to modern influences, we still strive for better music in Cameroon.
How would you rate the evolution of Cameroonian music, and what is your relationship with SOCAM?
I am very happy with the evolution of Cameroonian music. When I look at how it started and see where it is today—Cameroonian music is known around the world. The quality is impressive, and I think it’s going in the right direction. I urge the young ones to keep following the elders. Though modern music differs from the music of past icons, we pray for a better future for Cameroonian music.

You seem very active on digital platforms. How is the promotion of your music going?
I think I’ve done my best in promoting my new single with Coco Argentée, “Nonji Chom.” It’s available on all platforms, including TV and newspapers. Promotion is still ongoing, and I’m confident it will eventually pick up because I know in my heart that it will succeed.
What message would you like to send to your millions of fans?
I want to take this opportunity to thank all my supporters, without them I am nothing. With them, I know we can climb mountains. I want to sincerely thank them and urge them to keep pushing me forward, not just me, but also supporting our own Cameroonian music for a better future for the next generation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May God bless you all, and know that Jaja Tresch is here for you, so stay with me because I need you—without you, I’m nothing.
Thank you to all my fans, thank you Cameroon, and thank you to the world.
I am working very hard to satisfy all my fans, to satisfy Cameroonians. I keep asking you to stay tuned because Jaja Tresch is coming in a powerful way. I’m preparing a maxi single, and I believe by the end of the year or in 2025, it will be ready.
So stay tuned and follow me on my page, Jaja Tresh, so you don’t miss anything. I’m coming back in a powerful way with the maxi single.
Thank you, and may God bless you all
