The President of the Electoral Council of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) has announced that the official publication of the list of candidates selected for the October 2025 presidential election will be made this Saturday, July 26 at 12 p.m., at the esplanade of the national headquarters of ELECAM in Yaoundé.
In a press release this Thursday, Enow Abrams Egbe, president of the Electoral Council of ELECAM, announced that the institution will proceed with the official publication of the validated candidacies for the next presidential election on October 12. The ceremony will take place this Saturday, July 26 at noon, at the esplanade of the Elections Cameroon headquarters building in Yaoundé.
This crucial step comes after the review of the 83 candidacy files submitted to ELECAM between July 12 and 21, 2025. The list will determine which candidates will be authorized to take part in the elections scheduled for October 12, 2025. This election will write a very important page in the history of Cameroon.
The list publication exercise paves the way for the pre-campaign period be for the real campaign that comes probably from the 27th of September to the 11th October All eyes at this juncture are on ELECAM, particularly on the follow-up to certain candidacies of prominent political figures and also to see how it will handle the issuer of political parties with double candidacy.
