Celebrating the first anniversary of the death of ace Cameroonian artist, Keulion.
“Keulion has died but Keulion still attracts the public” said one of the numerous artists presents at the Starland Hotel in Bonapriso Douala Thursday 24th April 2025 to celebrate the first anniversary of the death of ace Cameroonian artist of the grass field origin, west of the country. In a show of captivating work of arts, the artists present exhibited a variety of arts work to the large and curious public that accepted the rendez-vous.


Ludovic Nsangou an arts lover said he was so delighted that a day is said aside by colleagues of the departed to immortalize by an exposition the great artist that Keulion was. “I knew the artist personally. He was a guy with a very kind heart and extremely creative.” Ludovic went on to say that the Cameroon arts is very rich and diversified but it is unfortunate that it is not very much valorized, that explains why the artist in Cameroon do not live of their arts work.
In a large wave of emotion that engulfed the big and artistically decorated hall of the Starland Hotel, Herve Yamguen, Georgia Lottin, Koko Komegne, Joel Mpah Dooh, Jean Michel Dissake, Samuel Dalle, Boris Nzebo, Hako Hanskson, Guy Kouekam and Wilfried Mbida all artis of dexterity and great repute answered present to commemorate the immortalization of a friend and colleague’s talent. With kind and touching words, they all remembered their first contact with the faithful departed Keulion. Unanimously, they agreed that the defunct was a boundlessly kind person. He could give out his work of arts regardless of the value.

Full of emotion Luisa Bomba the steam behind the organization of the event told Ca Presse that the aim of the arts exposition evening is to make the public know that Keulion is not dead as he lives through his works and the concept that he created Banka. “It was important for us to pay him homage and inscribe him on the wall of time because an artist does not die” she did not forget to thank the OUEB EYE LAB, another artistic concept and all the other artists that joint in the success of the realization of the beautiful evening, not forgetting the solid support of then French Institute of Cameroon that is always behind artists. Marc Monssalier the director of the French Institute of Cameroon who was present at the arts exposition evening told Ca Presse that supporting artists is part of the French culture “today, culture has a strong economic potential especially in a world where it is easier to move from one frontier to another”. Mr Monssalier thinks that if Cameroon artist should live of their arts work, there should be a lot of discipline and a lot of sacrifice. Artists have a particular way to express their feeling vis-à-vis their vision of live of what they see in everyday life. They are a gift to mankind and are worth valorizing.
